Castaldo “VLT” Rubber

It is a silicone rubber designed to be cured at a low temperature of 71°C, making it ideal for producing molds suitable for direct transition from CAD/CAM environments to mass production.

VLT can be used with traditional modeling waxes as well as with resins and/or waxes produced by CAD/CAM machines.

Depending on the material and shape of the model, VLT Silicone Rubber offers different curing temperature and time combinations.

Below are the recommended values for a classic mold with a thickness of 19 mm.

30 minutes at 88°C
45 minutes at 82°C
60 minutes at 76°C
90 minutes at 71°C

In general, lower curing temperatures result in less shrinkage, while higher temperatures cause increased shrinkage.

The typical shrinkage rate is approximately 0.1% at 88°C.
