The CEIA SMD 600 walk-through Metal Detector is a new-generation detector designed to satisfy security requirements in a wide range of applications. It meets all International Security Standards currently adopted in public and private installations.
The SMD 600 is particularly suitable for high security applications, such as penitentiaries, where the requirement is for maximum sensitivity to all metals combined with very high immunity to electrical interference in the surrounding environment and mechanical excitation.
The design characteristics of the SMD 600 also make it suitable for use in airports, ports, military installations, government offices and other locations where weapon detection coupled with a high level of discrimination in respect of metal personal effects is required.
The detectors control unit is incorporated into the structure of the device, and is available in the standard (IP20) and anti-vandalism (IP55 in stainless steel) versions. Access to programming is protected by both a mechanical lock and by two alphanumeric passwords.
The sensitivity of detection is independent from the speed of transit. This results in a very high flow rate of people through the gate. The SMD 600 is manufactured using the most advanced electronics technology, confirming to ISO 9001 Quality Control Standard procedures.
